I'm assuming that radio reception was good before you changed the radio, so we can probably assume that the aerial is fine. I would start by getting a new adapter and seeing if the problem persists, if it does then the issue is either in your radio or the aerial itself. Your next step would then be to swap the radio back out for the old one temporarily, if the problem persists then it's in the aerial and if it goes away it's in the head unit.
Troubleshooting electrics/electronics is often a tedious and laborious job, you just have to be methodical and narrow down the potential culprits until you're left with only one.

aftermarket radio bad reception
I have a Kenwood DDX-419 radio and I have horrible reception. I checked all the adapters for the antenna all is good.
Someone please help!!!!
