CAJUN YJ All I did for my tank is that I reused my factory tank from my 4.2, and I swapped sides from factory, an screwed it to the passenger side fender. It all worked out fine.

WICruiser Cajun, I can not recall what you did for the radiator overflow tank? My 92 original is on the wrong side relative the the aluminum radiator I installed (similar to yours I think)?

Mad-Mudder That looks good , I'm considering scrapping my idea and going this rout. Did you go with the 4-speed manual trans ? And do you know if I could use the 700r4 auto if my wife decides she don't want to shift gears...
Good Job..

95' with 05' Motor and trans,,,

AZ_YJ_4.0 I recommend Novak they made my 6.0 swat seem less motor mounts are solid and the transfer case adapter as well. I pulled a 6.0 motor from a 2000 Yukon Denali and the trans off of an 85 Chevy Blazer) set the computer to manual trans) in this case and kept the NP321 T-case off my YJ it's a very very simple swap. You can get gauges from Autometer or their cheaper version Auto Gauge and will work great. Biggest issue I ran into was alining the t-case out put to the front diff it's just a matter of olaying with the engine location. We set up the engine about an inch to the right from the center. It been running perfectly fine for about a year and a half. Like all these guys say, take your time and do your homework.

CAJUN YJ Well first off road journey with sbc in jeep went pretty good!! Lol last day of duck season today, an didn't have a 4wheeler, so I decided to go pick up my duck an goose decoys in my jeep!

CAJUN YJ I switched to a jeep in tank pump. I used the pump for a 91 wrangler.... It is a direct fit into my tank. So far so good...... It has plenty of flow for my needs.... But my v8 is a stock 95 TBI....

CAJUN YJ Well just about got the inside of my jeep just about wrapped up, just need to order a new brake light switch an wire it up, an the electrical will be complete!!! I do have a feeling that the ol 35 rear end prob won't hold up too long, but I think ill just swap in an 8.8. Besides a few wires to hide an my speedo to hook up an program, I'm 97% done!!! It's well worth all the time and money!!!!

CAJUN YJ I ended up putting two 30" cherry bomb glass packs. I like the "ol school" sound an it's not that loud an actually pretty quiet at hwy speed. But, when I down shift an mash out, u def know that they are there!! Lol
Hell they were cheap! 31$ each with tax an I did all the welding myself!
10-10-2013 11:27 PM
WICruiser Great job, I wish my project was any where near that far along.
10-10-2013 07:12 PM
TexasDemon84 Congrats!! Looks great. Boy those 350s sure sound great. I told the guy that did my exhaust I just wanted a good muffler not real quiet not too loud. I don't want no Flowmaster or such. I go to pick it up sounds great. I get home look under Jeep, he put in a stainless Magnaflow.
10-10-2013 12:46 PM
CAJUN YJ New update.... Got all exhaust piped in an hung. Now I just need to wire up my headlights an brake lights, and blinkers... Then it will finally B road legal lol.
I can say one thing, this is a whole new animal! It's 5 times the motor that was in it from factory, an it's nice to hear a lil v8 rumble in it!!! Wow is all I can say!!

Attachment 419809

Just need to paint exhaust black to match frame.... Can't leave it red with a blue jeep lol.....
10-05-2013 10:32 AM
CAJUN YJ Well finally!!!! ) ))!!!!

I started piping in my exhaust last nite after work, got one side done. Just need to finish the passenger side, an the blue machine will be ready to drive out the shed!!!! Woohoo!!

After that, it's just a matter of checking all connections for leaks, re installing my tach an speedo, front fenders, an wiring up my headlights an blinkers!!! Finally so close!!! ) ) ) )

Just hope that two 30" cherry bomb g.packs won't piss off the neighbors......... )

Ill post pix today after I get off of work later!!! So dam excited!!!

CAJUN YJ That's how I had measured first, which gave me my 17.500" length.
Then I called to have a shaft built here locally, an they told me to measure ctr-ctr of Ujoint caps. Which factory is 13.250", and my need is 1.500"-1.625" longer. The factory auto tranny shaft is 14.875" running length. So I'm thinkn that it will b pretty dam close!!! Got my fingers crossed!!! We will find out tomorrow after work as my new shaft will b waiting when I get home!!!!
09-25-2013 12:17 AM
indirocz28 Try the shaft, but you need to measure from the center of the rear yoke up to the tail housing, then add the length for the slip yoke of how far it sticks inside.
09-22-2013 12:00 PM
CAJUN YJ I've actually robbed some hoses off of the truck I had bought to do my swap. I robbed two hoses off the truck, the I just cut off the xtra length I didn't need.
The only other option I had found was to get some universal/custom cut to length hose. But it was expensive. So I took the cheap route for now. Lol
09-22-2013 07:16 AM
kywaterman Not sure on the answer for your question, but I have a question for you. What is the part number for the radiator hoses your running? or what application were they originally for?
09-21-2013 09:39 PM
CAJUN YJ Hey guys, I've got a question about my rear driveshaft. I'm needing a shaft that is real close to 15" running length.... A stock length yj shaft for a auto tranny is 14-7/8" running length... Do you guys think I could run that shaft??? I've got a buddy with a parts jeep yj, with an auto tranny. Said I could have the shaft..... But want to mk sure it will work
09-17-2013 08:25 AM
CAJUN YJ Yea gettn real close finally! I was able to start it an let it run for a lil while. Wanted to mk sure that I had no coolant leaks, or oil leaks. Now all I go left is to bleed clutch, drain an clean tank, an build my driveshaft at work, then I should beable to take her for a spin!!!
Wish I could post a short video, she sounds mean!! Lol
09-16-2013 03:13 PM
kywaterman Congrats man! Glade to see your about done
09-15-2013 10:24 PM
indirocz28 Congratulations!!! It will be well worth it!
09-15-2013 03:47 AM
CAJUN YJ Well finally!!! Woo hoo!!! Got my cooling system Finally in an piped in, fuel pump wired an piped. Now just need to drain the dam tank again......;/
Shitty, crappy, junk ethanol fuel.....

Attachment 347729

Attachment 347737

But, before I drain the tank, I think ill just put a jug of gas underneath an prime up pump to ck for leaks........ An of course push the start button!!!!!!! It's still open header but it will b ok to run for 5 min r so.... Lol ready to hear it run!!! Sob it took a while, but I think it's well worth the headache!
Now just need to bleed clutch, measure the length for new rear drive shaft, build it at work an have it balanced, then finish wiring up gauges in dash, an ill finall beable to drive it outta the shed!!! Dam excited!!
