Yeah. I don't think it is the driveshaft because it's been doing this for a very long time (like I said, 2-3 years) and it hasn't gotten worse, just consistently, and annoyingly, the same. I think it may also be the dust shield or worn brake pads. Maybe it's time for some Black Magic Brake Pads

When you posted about idling, I was thinking of the Jeep being stationary and the engine idling.

By shouldn't be "idle related" do you mean it would vibrate at higher speeds as well? I had this thought too because I had a u-joint go out in another car and this isn't similar to that, but that was also a 2wd car.

I should also add that there are no noticeable vibrations at any speeds. And when I say that it starts when I'm idling, I mean it starts when the Jeep is idling through a parking lot. Not just when it's sitting still idling.

UnlimitedRubicon A u-joint problem shouldn't be idle related but in order to help narrow down the cause:

Need some help... possible worn u-joint

So I've had a squeaking noise coming from what I believe to be the front end for a while now (like 2-3 years... I know I should've checked it out sooner than now). Thought it wasn't a big deal when I first got the Jeep but I think a u-joint may be going out on me. I can only hear it when I'm going 20 or slower and it doesn't matter if I'm turning or not. It also occurs regardless of whether the clutch is engaged or not. The only thing that I can do to set it off is idle for a bit. It doesn't do it immediately, but after idling for a little bit it'll start. It squeaks in unison with the tires rolling and isn't constant (like squeak, squeak, squeak) and gets faster as I speed up. If anybody has some advice I'd love to hear it! Thanks!
