Bangert I've decided to drop a little more money, getting currie Johnny joint 4" with antirock. Also going to dana 44 and swapping a hemi in.

Water Dog The Zone 4.25 combo lift is a great low cost alternative. It includes a 3" sus lift and 1.25" body and a motormount lift, which means no tc drop is involved (or very little). It's about the same price as the Skyjacker you were looking at.

TheDesertOutlaw On 2nd thought, I think that Zone 3.25" lift will be the ticket. You won't have to do driveline mods, keeping the overall cost much lower. I have a good friend who runs the Zone 3.25" lift, and we 'wheeled for 3 days down in Baja Mexico. His Jeep did great, and rode great - he bought a set of Bilstein shocks for his Jeep.

TheDesertOutlaw I spent about $500 on my 4" Pro-Comp lift 10 yrs./130,000 miles ago, and my vehicle did not spontaneously combust.LOL The ES3000 shocks were very stiff - They could be replaced with Rancho RS5000s for a better ride (extra expense).

My friend Mike was in the same situation - not much $$ to spend on his lift, so he went with the Rubicon Express 3.5" Budget lift for roughly the same amount of $$ - he opted for the RS 5000 shocks, and a Rubicon Express Adjustable Track Bar. After running this kit for 1 1/2 yrs, he is upgrading to an aftermarket Tie Rod to combat the shimmys his MTR/Ks produce at hwy speeds.

Bangert I have a house in Manitoba, about an hour from the border, so I can order shit and get it shipped to pembina North Dakota and ends up being half the price

JKUR10A As a fello Albertan, I know what you mean about trying to keep it under $1000 is tough. Just remember you get what you pay for.

Bangert So, keeping it under $1000, and you have to remember things are more expensive in Canada, what would you recommend as a great 4 inch lift. So many conflicting opinions on the subject

lonestarLj i have a skyjacker kit that's a few steps above this one,it is around seven years old but they havent really changed much. that being said when i bought my jeep about a year ago i replaced all the bushing it the arms and just put new procomp es-9000 shocks on, these two things made the kit bearable. by that i mean it rides better and performs a little better on the trail but in the grand scheme of things the control arms are still horrid with almost no flex in them and they wear out quickly, plus the hydro shocks that come with that kit are some of the worst shocks i've ever had; they don't do much and within 10-20 thousand miles they're shot.

I don't have an sye/DC. But I know what it does and what it requires. And I never said that adj. rear LCA's were required. I said that if you want the axle to be centered in the wheel well with a 4" lift and you are also installing an sye/DC, getting adjustable uppers and lowers for the rear is required then.

So when you installed your sye/DC shaft you were unable to set your rear pinion angle without adjustable rear LCAs?

Water Dog I bought and installed almost that exact kit 2 years ago (before I knew better) and am in the process of upgrading the whole enchillada a little at a time. If that is all the $'s you have to spend on a lift, I recommend either waiting and saving some more, or if you just have to do it, go with a Zone combo lift for about the same $'s. We just put one on my son's Jeep, and it seems to work well.

PStov98TJ Well you'll need rear bumpstop extension as well. You'll want to get better arms than those SJ ones. They'll leave you buying new ones in a year or two. Metalcloak or Currie arms are a much better choice. Forget that drop pitman arm. You'll also need a front adj. trackbar (MC just came out with one that has great clearance). Currie also makes a rear trackbar that comes with a bracket that won't bind on anything and will compensate for the axle being rotated for the sye/cv. Trust me, I looked at that exact kit and after doing research, it just had more problems and parts missing that I wanted to deal with. And if you think about it, there's a good reason it's only $550.

Skyjacker Econo Lift

I'm thinking about going with this lift. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16117_190_07.htm

I know I need a sye and driveshaft. I also need adjustable track bars. I've searched and seem to find misleading information. What else do I need to complete this lift?
