The key on off thing works unless you drive a 98-00 I believe.
An its not just a Jeep thing cause many Chryslers will do it, I use it at work on the Chargers in the field.
Also have had my sister do it in here caravan 3 states away so I could give her advice.

|TJZ||Question : where do you get these codes from ? I mean, how do you get or see the codes ? Probably a dumb question but I'm new to this.|

I think that is the code I had a couple of weeks ago right after I bought my TJ. I researched it at that time and found it to be caused by a poorly sealing gas cap. I filled my tank and screwed the cap on tightly and the check engine light went away (after I disconnected the negative side of the battery for 20 minutes to allow the system to reset).
Not sure if it's that simple on yours. Give it a try.
