When I purchased my JK in March from Greenbrier Jeep (airport) in Norfolk, I wanted a Bright White with a hardtop but the only JK hardtop on the lot was Commando Green. The dealer was nice enough to swap out the tops for me, taking the hardtop off of the Commando Green JK and installed it on the Bright White one that I wanted.
Maybe your dealer would swap tops for your Rock Lobster?

|thinkxingu||So lift assist only comes with the premium soft top?|

|Big Fran||Mine is the premium soft top with the spring assist and I love it. It's still a pain to remove the windows to put the top down but after the windows are out it's easy to take it down or put it up by myself.|

|PhotoWrangler||Mine is a 2013 soft top and I don't think I have anything like lift assist. Was it standard with the soft top or an option? I hate my soft top. I mean I like it, but I hate putting it down or raising it. Its very awkward.|

"Same as production Top. Complete Soft Top and folding framework. The Soft Top is made of a tough, vinyl-coated cotton/poly blend and features two quick-release header latches to raise and lower with minimal effort. Spring Lift Assist makes this top easier to fold up and down."
I'm assuming from this MOPAR description that it makes it easier to close the top, through the use of springs. After market that top is $1895.99!!!
I think I'd stick to asking for help.

2013 Leftover Pricing/Lift Assist
My wife was looking at the new colors and doesn't like any of them better than rock lobster. Seeing as the latter doesn't seem to be selling, there are 7 near us, but all with hardtops. If I were to find a take-off soft top or aftermarket, would they come with the lift assist? My wife wouldn't be able to put the top up by herself otherwise.
Also, given these have been sitting, what might I expect for a deal?
