CJ7nvrstk 4.56s would likely be best for the use you describe.

vacca foeda 2011 is the 3.8 the switch to the 3.6 happened in 2012

Martinm66 I think I found the 3.6 chart.

Martinm66 This is the 3.8 chart. The 3.6 is a little different if my memory is working

jkjeeper06 4.88. That will work well with the 4 speed. It's a little under geared from the factory. We have a member, Jimbox, on 33's and 5.38 gears and got 17-18mpg

vacca foeda I'd say 4.56 or 4.88 based on that chart. What tires are they? most 33s run small. My bet is 4.56 would work for what you're looking for.

Of course, my advice is coming from a guy with a 3.8 manual running the 3.21s with 33s in florida.

JeeperJake OP:

one temporary measure that might help, is to switch OD off at the start of those little inclines.

My own 08JK with same gearing pulled various 'slight inclines' with the original Dueler tires. Just changing to the same circumference traction tire (OK, they were 1/2" more, but still sub-33") dropped my RPM enough that the tranny wasn't happy at the same speed.

I found pushing the OD button at the right places did wonders for my own sense of 'uninterrupted forward motion'.

HK_Runner Looks like 5.13 or 5.38 (assuming chart above is around 70 MPH). I have a 2012 with the 3.6 and 35s. Also have to regear before the damn thing irritates me to death. However, I am targeting 4.56.

gearing...PLZ HELP

Hey guys need some advice...I have 2011 JKU running 33's with a level lift...its an automatic with 3.73 gears.

The freeway driving / slight inclines are driving me NUTS!!
At 60mph on the freeway I'm at 1600 ish rpms
if i hit a slight incline the thing falls on its face.

what gearing should I go to?

Daily driver, no wheeling, would like to keep gas mileage "close to what I get now" (16-17 mpg).

thnx in advance
