|brandon1015||Not sure of what brand im going to use yet. Im on a strict and limites budget. Nit gonna bother with the outside. The paint is actually really good on the oitside believe it or not. Its just a bit dirty need to wash it. Im just gonna worry with the inside floor. Just trying to keep the rust off it.|

what color are you going to paint it and what type of paint? I did similar rust removal and went the monstaliner approach inside and out - check out my thread for the build. I will be posting finished product pics in a few days when my dash comes in. (thursday)

|brandon1015||Did some paint stripping and rust removal from the seat sliders and passenger riser. Fun stuff. had to go buy an angle grinder and attach a wire wheel. Seems to be harder than i thought to find a wire wheel for my bench grinder. Might be hung up on this for a few days. By the way, food for thought, rustoleum brand "aircraft remover" paint stripper is absolutely useless. Put 3 coats on and not a bit of paint came loose. Found my old aircraft paint remover, cant remember the brand, from almost 7 years ago and the first coat from it worked like a charm. Ill post the name of it in my next post.|

|brandon1015||More pics. Rust was soo bad in seats i had to cut bolts and seat nutplatea out just to get ahold of the sliders. The. Had to drill out the bolts from the slliders. Good news is the slidera are salvageable. Just gonna strip em, remove the rust, prime, and paint. Bought all new stainless harsware for the seats changing the from star bolt to hex bolt without thinking it through. Got home and realized i didnt take the CLOSE tolerance of the slider where they mount. Will be going back to hardware store to switch out bolts....feeling like a genius!|

1995 project for a noob
Hey guys this is my first jeep and really looking forward to the project if building her up and see what takes shape. I wanted to kind of chronicle my progress here that way i could get some advice along the way. So far ive had it for about 2-3 weeks. Pretty much all stock nothing big on it. 2.5 L 174500 miles. Runs ad cranks good. FWD works. It does have some rust issues but most jeeps ive looked at in the past few months have had the same or worse.
So far ive only done minor things. I removed the old worn out seats. Will be replacimg with black vinyl rugged brand non-reclining high backs. I had to replace the drivers side riser due to a MASSIVE rust build up that ate away the left hand side and into the floor destroying the nutplate. Im going to have a buddy of mine cut out the rust and replace it with a patch and new nutplate. There are a few more worrisome rust areas specifically at the steering colum. Ill be por-15ing as muvh as possible lol. Removing/ replacing what i must.
The other day i had a speedometer light and turn signal failure so i replaced fuses, bulbs, and relays with no results. Ill tackle that one later. Also the jeep came with a bikinni top so i bought a rampage soft top complete replacement kit w/ frame. STOLE it for $200 Brand new on ebay! Zing!!!
Ill include pics later, phone wont do it, and update as regularly as possible looking forward getting her done and all the feed back. Did i mention ive never done anything like this before complete noob to all of this.
