New (Grandpa) Member in Minnesota
Finally settled down back in Minnesota after 24 years of traveling around at the expense of the military. Now I am in the process of closing on my first Jeep (although I borrowed my younger brothers CJ5 back in 1986 for 6 months). I have been 4-wheeling for over 25 years in several different ford trucks (Explorer, 150, 250, Ranger) but always wanted a Jeep.
I took my wife, an avid consumer reports (not very positive jeep fans) reader, to test drive the Wranglers and on our way home she informed me that she only went with so that she could point out all of the reasons that we should not buy one. But the test drives convinced her that we should get one! After it is home I will work on getting her to understand that the doors are only an option. She is not sure about that yet, but I will convince her of that too!
So I am currently in the process of buying a 2013 Wrangler (Commando Green Freedom Edition) and if everything falls in line (work schedule) I should have it by next weekend.
Wish me Luck!
(MUD will be a requirement on the way home)
