The flanged washer is the correct way to do it. Ruff Stuff has them.

Wallowed out UCA mounting hole on body, repair?

Found I had lost the nut on my upper control arm and the loose bolt wallowed out the hole in 1/8" sheet metal mount. What can be done to repair this?

I guess the obvious would be to weld on a piece of plate with correct hole size but it's a hard place to get in to... What about opening up the hole larger and using some kind of flanged fitting?
