KnoXouT How much did you end up paying for the soft top on Craigslist?

NJJeep Guy The pictures look fine. The top on my 07 JKU sits exactly the same way. I have no problems with leaks or anything related to that spot.

Bpscotty Jwilson, thanks for the response. I do believe it looked better at the end of the day versus at the initial install. Ended up with the new older top due to the price off Craigslist, plus not many khaki ones around.

That's actually an 07-09 style top since it has the clip in retains instead of the spring loaded cable. My 08 had a similar issue as it was a dual top that sat before the initial install, but it eventually resolved itself.

MattK What year is the top from? The door surrounds and top are from the same year?
07-27-2013 02:04 PM
Bpscotty So just got back inside. It has been out baking for about 1.5 hours. It appears to be slightly better but still not to my liking. Again this is a older model top on a 2013. Everything lined up and installed fine though except this one area and I swear it is that little tab in pic 2 that is causing the issue, but there is no where for it to go. Here is couple shots of the full install. Maybe that will help.

Bpscotty Jadmt, the surrounds do lay flat. My issue is the small tab area right between the front and rear door. The tab is part of the top not the channel it is in the second pic. I really have no way to edit photo and add arrows and info or at least at this time. Only have iPad, maybe can find a app for that. Going back out to check install again. Other then this area top is on and looks great. Thanks everyone.

MattK I just put the Bestop Twill Supertop NX on my 2-door yesterday, same thing as the factory premium. Not sure I'm making any sense of the problem you're having though. Can you edit the photos to put arrows or something to the problem areas? Or look for pictures on the internet that show the part you're having trouble with? I'm assuming it's under the fabric on a side bow?

jadmt See how my door surrounds/frames whatever you call them are nice and flat giving a nice shelf for the top to lay on. not sure if it is possible but do you have them on the wrong sides of the vehicle?
07-27-2013 01:25 PM
Bpscotty It is not a 2013 soft top but is a brand new earlier year that came with all surrounds and frames in the un opened box. From what I read should not be a problem.
07-27-2013 01:12 PM
nwbronco That'd be a yes. It is amazing compared to the standard top. Gotta agree with jadmt on this.

kjeeper10 That is the new premium fabric ?

Something does not look right.

nwbronco Maybe it does. Is that the soft top frame that is showing in the first pic? The soft top should have a spring loaded cable that secures it against the door surrounds when it is closed. Can you confirm?

nwbronco That does not look like a 2013 top.

Bpscotty It's not the window it is the top right between front and rear door. I got photos up that may help. Thanks

kjeeper10 There's steps to wrap the window into the c-channel properly and get to stay.

-Hold up window from the rear using the Velcro.
-Now only zip 1-2"
-Wrap the window into the channel
-Zip fully
-Velcro and secure into body channels

Initial soft top install help

So I finally got around to installing the soft top on our 2013 JKU. Everything has gone good except not happy with area between front and rear doors. There is a small plastic tab without a "C" like the rest of the areas that hook into the surrounds. This tab seems to be causing the front Side of the tab to not allow to fully seat. It is happening on both the right and left sides. Very stuff to get pictures but I tried.
