That makes a lot of sense, thanks WX. With the sounds of wind, engine, and Steve Winwood blaring, I doubt it'll be an issue.
Edit: If you have a side shot of your car/time to upload it, I'd love to check it out.

The 17" will have less sidewall and also more tough inner tire construction. So it's going to ride a lot more firm. However, I've never seen anything relating to wheel diameter or load rating affecting sound levels.
My 33x12.50-15 Duratracs were very quiet for the first 5,000 miles. They were about the same as some AT tires I've used. Hankook Dynapro ATM, Cooper ATP, BFG KO are all the same noise level as the Duratrac when new. However, at 5,000 miles I did a cross-rotation and then the noise became noticeably louder. Still not MT levels...but definitely noticeable.

Got 33s on 15 or 17? Question about "utility"
So I've narrowed my options down to a specific setup that suits my needs. I will be throwing 33 duratracs on either 15" trackers or 17" zx. Im dead set on the 33 DTs due to vermont's ridiculously variable road conditions (ice, water, snow, dry, etc). I've heard that, due to a higher load rating, the 17" might cause a considerably higher amount of road noise. Is this true? Am I getting the whole story? The DTs are not loud in nature, but I didn't buy a jeep for the "quiet ride."
Thanks ahead for advice, and feel free to post pics and describe your setup!
