jeohowarth You're right, It's all in the timing. Got a friend to help.

Went back, checked again, re timed and all's well in YJ land.

Got the rest of it right as well.

tlrrob1000 Why did you mess with the timing? Well I would start there. Get it up to running temp. and check it. May have moved. Go from there.

Crappy performance

Just bought an 88 YJ Laredo.
Was running well when I bought it. Then I gave it a full service etc,then put in a new fuel pump. Timed it. And then when i get it out on the road at lower rpm's when i put my foot on the gas it splutters and feels like its going to stall. When warmed up it runs a little better. but still splutters when at low rpms. Going to change the oxygen sensor, although it has just passed a smog test! Any ideas on what could be my problem? What else should I be checking? Thanks for your help.
