Airtight X2. When mine did that, it was a bad intake manifold gasket combined with a missing/broken bolt. While it is whistling, put your hand against the throttle body area and press toward the engine and see if the sound changes. Or you could spray WD40 or something between the gasket and the head and see if your idle increases.

eugenesonrisa My intake manifold wasn't seated correctly and I had a whistle at idle too. Not sure about your other symptoms but it's a place to start.

jeep whistling while idling

i have a 2004 rubicon and for a while now it makes a funny whistling while idling. it goes away when i accelerate or when i push the clutch in and coast to a stop. it seems to me that it only does it when it is warmed up and i get the rpms above 1-2 grand for an extended period of time. i am at a complete loss please any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! thanks
