Sharkey Mine does it too, its supposed to, ...cold problem could be coolant temp sensor out of parameters, not enough to set a code. Assuming fuel pressure etc. is o.k. Test the temp sensor, do a search on how to threads...

97 tj wont idle down until stopped

I have 97 jeep tj 2.5l the jeep runs great and idles great when jeep is at a stop. Here is the weird part it will not idle down if the jeep is in motion as soon as the vehicle comes to a complete stop it will idle down as its suposed to. If I remove plug on speedo sensor it works properly. I replaced speedo sensor same thing I have no codes or engine light on. The other problem is when its cold the jeep its starts right up starts to idle down then dies you have to start it around 2 to 3 times before it wont die. Once again no codes.
I have replaced idle control motor cleaned throttle body reset computer installed new battery plugs cap roter and wires. Maybe computer is deffective

Im running out of answers any help would be great

Thanks Ryan
