|TurboTony84||Lol. its really at random. at cold itll do it, then idle out to about 600-800 then like half the time after the engine is warm the idle changes. the idle doesnt move at all, but the set idle seems to be off. its more annoying than anything else. i figured maybe someone ran into this. its like the 5.0 mustangs when the IAC goes bad the engine runs like $hIt. not sure if its a jeep thing, if its something related to vacuum, or air intake.|

|csamn2007||OMG that color is so bad for that problem! Thats why i didnt buy a dark blue jeep! Just messing, Mine does that only when its cold then it levels out around 800. Is this under normal conditions? Alot of spikes?|

thanks. i have a 02 wrangler sport. 4.0 I6. besides the funny idle, great engine. 5 speed manual transmission. dark blue.
just seeing if anybody else has the same issue. the idle doesnt fluctuate at all. it'll stay at a steady pace, but the idle isnt consistent. its either dead on at 600 (about half the time), or anywhere up to and including 1100 RPM. not sure what to look at first. TPS maybe?
Pics soon to come.

Is this a Jeep thing?
Random Idle. the idle on my wrangler stays steady at the set RPM, but never idles at the same RPM. itll idle at around 600 , but may switch to 1100, 1000, 800. it never stays the same. its been this way since i bought it, and i love my wrangler, but this just gets annoying. what gives?
