|whitebuffalo||i would think that you would need to after that, but like i said, i've never touched an ARB before. if it started doing this after the install/repair, i would almost guarantee you need to shim it. it looks like too much backlash to me, but I'm no expert (only done a few...with help )|

Reshim the pinion? I didnīt touch it. I only installed a new ARB diff case.
IMO I should reshim the diff case. The ring gear has to come closer to the pinion.
Could that much play cause the noise I heard?

|jdhallissey||Yea looks like you might need to reshim the pinion. The play should be minimal. between 20-25 inlb to rotate the pinion with it all hooked up.|

Knocking Noise @ Front Axle
Some days ago I repaired my front diff (new diff case). Now I have a "knock knock knock" noise when I accellerate.
The only thing I found that there is way too much play between the ring and pinion gear.
Could this cause this noise?
I only want to be sure that there isnīt something alse. I touched all suspensionparts in the front and everithing is tight.
On Wednesday Iīll adjust the play between theR&P gears and I hope that teh noise will be gone then.
