If it helps, I am on a high speed modem, with Roadrunner as the service.

|joemd60||The load times are horrible, the site runs real slow. I thought it was my laptop, but my Yahoo homepage and other websites are fine. Maybe Exidor is responsible for it.|

Not sure if it is load times, but when I use the back arrow to go to the prior screen, it just refreshes the current screen. I have tried to use the back arrow a few times with no difference. Now have to use the refresh screen and that takes me to the main menu. Anyone else having this issue?

|buckshot500||Meh really slow tonight for me too, even with the adblocker.|
|10-20-2009 07:23 PM|
|joemd60||So what do you do about the load times if you use I.E.? It seems within the last 2 days, the load times are terrible.|
|10-11-2009 10:18 AM|
Just installed firefox's adblock plus & it seems much faster now!
I'll check back later to let y'all know if it really worked.

|10-08-2009 10:40 PM|
|buckshot500||Weird, when i logged on tonight it was fine. Then after a few threads it started taking more time to reload the next page again. Not as bad as before though, but still noticeably slow.|

|crafty||Been doing much better. Logged on during lunch at work and it is no longer locking that up either. Thanks!|

Sorry it took so long for me to get back over here. Been working overtime which is a nice change for my wallet.
Whatever you did, it worked. The board is lightning fast today. I'm located in upstate South Carolina.

|Andy R||Sorry about the hangs. I have disabled the ad network that I think is causing this. It won't update for a couple hours. Hopefully it will be gone then...|
|10-03-2009 12:05 AM|
|crafty||Not sure about others but, it was hanging up real bad tonight on my computer.|
|10-02-2009 08:30 PM|
|Andy R||Buckshot, where are you located? Can you let me know which ad shows up exactly when it hangs? Can you right click on the ad and let me know the URL it pointing to?|

Skeeter, thanks for the info about the 3rd party ad server. I know they sometimes get hiccups.
Buckshot, did the issue just recently start for you or has it been happening for a while. Are others getting the page hang recently?
|09-27-2009 08:45 PM|
|Levinoss||If you are using IE then drop it and download firefox buckshot. I have not had any issues since I downloaded the adblocker.|
|09-27-2009 08:43 PM|
This really is a crying shame, I'd come here more often but I have to set aside some extra time as it is now.
Takes me over an hour just to go through a handful of threads.
Other than that, I like this board a lot. Just wish it wasn't so difficult to navigate.

Andy, it's not your servers, It's the third party ad servers.
You've got the ads loading before your content so when the browser starts loading the site it hits the ad code and freezes until it gets a response from the third party server and then goes on to load the rest of the page.
You should be able to move your advertising scripts to the end of your code and then manipulate placement with your style sheet.
Every time we experience load time problems the page freezes here.
It does it to Amy running XP pro and me running Linux Ubuntu.

I am still on XP, so I can't help you much. Google Trace Route and Vista, there should be some tutorials.
Please paste the output here. It will help us identify the where the slowdown is...
