Disconnecting the sway bar is THE best thing you can do when you offroad and need (or want) some flex!
The stockers are fairly manpower intensive as you need a T50 or T55 Torx and a bungie or some zip ties to stow the links up and out of the way.
Best advice I have would be go with a few other jeepers (always, safety in numbers) and disconnect the swaybar and stow the links and air down the tires to 12-15 PSI (depending on what tires you have). You'll need someone along with a compressor to air back up when you're done and always reconnect the swaybar before driving off.
You CAN drive on pavement with it disconnected, but your jeeps body is not connected to the front axle and braking/swerving will get interesting (in the Chinese curse way) really fast!

Short answer, yes it will benifit from a disconnect. Allows better articulation in the rough stuff. When I pull my sway bar off, I just bungee the connectors to the frame to hold them up while off road.

Sway bar diconnect
I was wondering if a stock jeep will benifit from disconnecting the sway bars. Or is this something you need a lift for?
