bagged92sdime That blows! I'd say stay away from areas like that and its a NO-BRAINER to air down on the sand.

Geoff@Bestop I'd rather try to explain that to my Insurance company than to my wife.

SandDevil93 We have a saying in our Glamis group:

"Dude......you gotta air down!"

How sad, in a new JK too. If I had a new $27k+ JK, I would be sick if this happened. Sorry, no experience, too chicken!

motokeen Most places will cover it but they may drop him. My friend got t-boned at the end of the dragstrip and his insurance covered it but they droped him after that.

If you drive on sand

take the air out of your tires!! Here's the saying:

"12 psi - your rig will never die"

This guy didn't air down. He said, "I never had to in the past, so I didn't this time either."

The only problem is he was attempting to pass a section of a Holgate NJ beach that is constantly flooded and the ground is well aerated and softened by the different vegetation growing there. At one point, his rig was under water (over the roof). When he opened the hood there was all sorts of sea life and plants jammed in there. The Jeep wouldn't start, no electric, and the rear tires seized.

Numerous people on scene were skeptical about the insurance company's willingness to pay because he was off-road. Anyone have any experience with this?
