Semper_smith if heard alot about people having trouble with the vacum lines, and ive heard others saying its easy as 1 2 3. whats the deal, im getting ready to invest in the EFI kit and just looking to see what the common misshaps were

bbhlawn I actually found a 90 yj that the guy bought the howell and started installing it. He was overwhelmed and didn't finish the install. Bascially just bolted it to the intake. Anyway I paid 250 bucks for the whole thing. And now the Howell is running on our 88. All I can tell you is if you follow the directions and just skip the parts about cutting your main harness the install is a afternoon job with basic hand tools

vincedahl their used to be a site called that had an awsome write up for using the tbi off a 4.3 chevy motor to do a fuel-injection conversion on a 258 for about 300 bucks. If you search for it you might be able to find more info about it.

bbhlawn I just got done installing the Howell this afternoon on my son's 88. I have to say that is a great upgrade from the carb. Just follow the instructions and everything is pretty straight forward. The worse part of the whole deal was moving the heater duct for the wiring and even that isn't that big of a deal.

AK Jeeper I ran the Howell kit on my '88 YJ for years, it was one of the best investments I ever made for my jeep. I have recently purchased another '88 YJ and a Howell kit will go on that also. The company also provides great tech support.

jgano23 i have that kit on my cj7. it is by far the best mod that i have done to my jeep (actually my hubby installed it). it is sooooo much better than the carburetor. no more carb adjustments, tough starts, rough idle. if you don't have the time, skill, or access to to the parts for a 4.0 head swap, it is a great alternative. from what the hubby says, it is a very easy install.

cheapjeep71 If I had the money, I would get the Mopar multi-point injection kit. It's much better than the Howell. But it is twice as much.

Dirt Diver Ive heard good things about them. I am seriously thinking about getting one with Money coming from tax season. It will help my Jeep out so much better since I live in the butt Cold north.

howell fuel injection kit

Anyone had any experience with the Howell throttle body on a 1990 jeep 258?
