Thule - The Way To Go
I had a tire mount Thule ski rack that worked very well - 2 snowboards on the right side and 2 pairs of skis on the left side - worked perfectly without the wind noise of a roof rack

Ski Rack? Roof Rack?
Hey everybody--- Ski season is here, and I'm trying to figure out a way to get my skis around in my 05 TJ! So far I've been jamming them in diagonally with the back seat folded down, but that's kinda beat because I can only take one other person, and getting their skis/board in as well tends to be a pain.
I see three potential avenues: hitch mounted rack, tire mounted rack, and roof mounted racks. Here's what I'm thinking... If I get the hitch mounted one, I need to get a hitch first. (Which I may do someday anyway, I have a small sailboat that I need to tow when summer rolls around) If I get the tire mounted one, I can't hit the slopes with anybody who boards, cuz I havent found any that you can put both skis and boards on. What are my options in the roof rack department? I'd like to have something I can put a ski rack on in winter and a safari/cargo rack on in summer...does such a thing exist? Here's the catch-- I have a soft top, and that's not changing.
I've looked at the kongo kage as a possible answer...would that do what I need?

Anybody have any suggestions?
