Hums99 Well not much work going on with the jeep but I have been busy gathering some parts. I aquired some Currie High 9" fr and rr with ARB lockers and disk brakes. I also got a Viair comp with tank. The axles are 63.5" wide so they will be 3" wider than my stock axles. They also have the 5 on 5.5 spacing so I will be looking for a set of rims. This also will help with my rear drive shaft binding since it's got a shorter pinion length so I will be able to have a longer DS and now I will be able to lengthen my limiting strap. Which should allow me to flex a little more.

The winter beater!!
Well another great find this evening. I purchased a brand new never been used Currie 9" front and rear high pinion axles complete with disk brakes and Warn hubs in the front. Not crazy about having to buy new wheels because they are 5 x 5.5" spacing but I saved over $7000. The only thing that I have to purchase is a compressor. Pictures to follow when I get them home.

Hums99 Well I bought an 01 Grand with a new long block and 4 1/2" lift. I definitely know why I went with a LA susp. this thing rides like a buck board compared to my TJ.
Oh well I guess it's just my winter beater to keep the real jeep from getting coated in these PA salt covered roads and my jeep from rusting to pieces. Pics to follow when we get out of the tundra temps, we're having here.

Hums99 So I've been out shopping for a beater jeep so I can park my TJ for the winter. I hate to have the salt and grime on all the JJ's for them to rust. What I have found is a bunch of Cherokees some with rust and some in excellent shape. One is rust free with a bad head for $1000, I think this is the way I'm going to go. I'm not 100% sure though. Any opinions are welcome.

Yes I will posting pictures of the build of tire carrier and my tube flares. I have many more upgrades that will be posted on here. If you have any questions of anything on here shot me a message.

My understanding of the Antirock is that the torsion bar running through the crossmember twists when the front end articulates. As it twists, it actually pushes the axle down on the droop side. This gives more control, rather than the axle just flopping down as when completely disconnected. The AR applies some force to the axle which increases your traction through the flex range.

....bad way of explaining it, but that is how I understand it to work.

Hums99 Currie Anti Rock installed I definitely thought I would loose some flex. Well I didn't I don't know how it works but it does.

Dezo49 The bf are a harder compound they last longer. For rock climbing you should find a lower tred war number. The lower the tred war number the softer the number.

Yes I think you're right, I ran 15 lbs in my 36" for the jamboree and had problems. The next day I aired down to 10lbs and the difference was amazing. I'm not a mud loving person, I prefer rocks.

I'm just not sure how BFG MT are because the guy that runs them say they are terrible. Could be the driver. ?

Dezo49 Well I usually go mudding in my 84 ram but. But I find on the trails no matter what size tire it is all about the pressure. Size dose matter but if you have the right pressure you should do fine.

Hums99 So I put on a set of 35" BFG M/T tonight wow what a difference is power and ride. I definitely like the ride and power but don't know if I will like the lack of traction on the trail. If so have thoughts on this let me know. I do have an option of buying these tires in 37", uses about 500 miles. Let me know what you you guys think. Thanks

Hums99 Well I got my Currie Anti Rock today now to find some garage time to get it installed before the Toys for Tots ride at Rock Run which is their last trail ride for the year.

I hope this anti rock will cure my body roll when wheeling, off camber hills are very uncomfortable, especially on the low side. Lol We will probably have to modify the links. As the way we have the axle setup one link is shorter than the other. Do to a couple skids we build to deflect rocks off of the control arm braces.

Hums99 Well I had a great conversation with John today from 4LOW Parts.com. He is in Las Vegas and has awesome deals on quality stuff.

I have decided to get a Currie Anti Rock to help limit the body roll while wheeling. I did a search and his co. had the best price. I tried ordering it because of the free shipping only to charges $28. So I cancelled my order. I received an email asking if I has problems and I told him. He replied back with the free shipping code and knocked another $20 off the order. So I got home to place the order not only did he give the discount but the Internet price was changed so everyone can benefit. Price was $359 Sale price $349. Internet price now is $329.

So if anyone out there needs or has been considering one, this is the cheapest I could find it with free shipping.

Hums99 So I'm in the process of gathering more DOM for my flares and getting ready to fab them up. But it's time to do some trails and enough garage time. Three months till in the garage total of 4 weeks building it waiting on parts and pieces. 1.5 weeks to get a MML I think is a little absurd. But what can ya do.
Update on Doug's XJ- He went to the Catskills Jeep Jam and had a little to much skinny pedal. He snapped his front 44 chromo axle, hub, u joint, rear 9" housing, ring and pinion. Needless to say it was a good thing he trailered it there.

Hums99 Jamboree went great, we ran the Grinder trail and Back n Up trail. Some body damage was done to some of the rigs, but I had no damage.

Hums99 So to give you some details:
99 Jeep 4.0 3spd auto
Front axle Hp30 with G2 gears and Yukon locker
Rear axle Chrysler 8.25 29 spline with Hobart locker to be replaced with a Detroit Tru-trac
Front axle was moved over an 1.5" forward with all new steering built.
Long arm is built from 1.75" .250 wall , all the brackets were fabbed for upper and lower arms.

The transfer case was raised over 4.5" , it's not completely flat because of the pinion angle. The 8.25 has a longer pinion then a D35.
The front drive shaft was lengthened 3" because of the stretch and the amount of articulation.
The rear drive shaft is out of a explorer and then cut down to length.

Interior has a OR Fab cage that needs tied in yet. I pulled the carpet due to a rain storm, I bedlined the front floor boards and used a truck bed mat cut to fit cargo area. I installed a Cobra CB with blue tooth, it works great with my phone.
I purchased used Genright corners to be used when we build flares everything will be tied in together so the flare can be used as a slider also.
