|G-Pur||One thing you should never EVER do, is feel bad for a dealer. As for tires, it sounds like you might want to go with BFG A/Ts. Great on the highway and in rain, and really good in everything else except deep mud.|

But the chrome grille matches the 20in spinners i am putting on it lol. I have a 6 speed manual, really, who gets an automatic wrangler? Might as well have some one drive you around.
I live in the grove and want to go the the everglades once in a while. I have a daily commute of 18 miles each way in the horrible Miami traffic. I would like to get a tire that is good for everyday use and also perform well off road. I guess I have a lot of research to do to determine how much to lift it and what tires to get.
The elxplorer was a nightmare, always a problem and a pain to fix. I feel bad for the dealer who took it as a trade.

A+ on getting rid of your "Exploader"
I had one for 5 years, the thing was a P.O.S. Replaced the stinkin ball joints every 5k miles.....

Hey man, I just got my 2002 Wrangler a couple months ago and I also live in Miami. I've been dying to take her off roading but the most I've been able to do is a few atv trails around my house.
I stay by kendall so I got a lot of forest around here.

|JDsDream||Welcome to the Unlimited World and welcome to the forum. As stated above, right now on stock suspension you can go to a 31x10.5. You will be surprised at the visual difference such a small increase in tire size can have. Just make sure that you research your tires before you buy. Will you be off roading, will it be a daily driver or both and choose appropriately. Every person on this forum has an opinion about tires, including me. Oh and that chrome grill cover just snaps on.|

I have the same model and color as you
stock you should be able to handle a fair amount of stuff, just make sure you stay on the trails, don't wander off them until you get at least 35's with a suspension lift. also if you have the auto tranny, be careful not to spin the wheels excessively when your stuck the tranny can burn up.
also bring someone with you, so if you get stuck they can pull you out.
P.S. i recommend Mickey Thompson Baja Claw radials if your getting new tires

Welcome to the addiction. First take your rig offroading without modifying it. Find out what you like to do then go modify from there. The biggest tire you can go with is 31" without rubbing on your steering components. The stock Jeep is very capable of doing a lot of things off road. You can also search the threads here for the exact same question.
p.s. I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, and went to school at FIU-south campus.

Wrangler Noob in Miami
Over the weekend I traded my explorer in for a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited. I love it, its silver with a black soft top. It's pretty much stock except for a chrome grille. I am interested in getting into off roading. I want to put some bigger tires on it and maybe a snorkel. What size tires can I put on the stock rims without having to mess with the suspension? I plan on offroading in the everglades when its ready too. Or is it best to raise it a bit? So happy to have an awesome jeep!!!
