exboomer I would do a quick check and make sure you dont have any worn (loose) front end/steering components then align. Make sure you rotate the tires every so often as well. The wandering may be caused in part by the tires being worn. You will have to rotate them to the rear or replace them.

Jerry Bransford You don't need a complete alignment, you only need to have your toe-in adjusted. Make sure your tires aren't inflated too. Many tire shop jocks overinflate tires in the mistaken belief they are supposed to be inflated to the pressure shown on the tire's sidewall. That tire pressure is never correct, that is only the tire's maximum safe pressure.

Bignuke Yes an alignment should fix it.

InfernoGirl Rotate regularly, and sounds like you need an alignment.

Newbie - Possible Front End Problem

Hey from Texas,

I just bought my very first Jeep, 2000 Wrangler, 6 cyl. Automatic, 129K miles. I think it's been lifted a little. Since I have never driven a Jeep, I don't know what's normal. The Jeep seems to wander a little. I can't really explain it too well. I plan on taking it to a shop and have it checked out. The front tires are worn on the inside a little and appear to be worn overall much more than the rear tires. Give me your thoughts. Thanks.
