jp'rs_peep'rs I like those. It is a very slick way of holding towing straps, recovery gear outside the Jeep.

Eagleridge5 I like the look of those but that's a lot of dough for the small amount of storage you get.

yj-genral it doesnt go any lower than the crossmember does BUT it does take away any side to sid clearance...

i wouldnt put that on there unless i never planned on leaving anything worse that a dirt forest road... or just a dirt road for that matter.

Mr. WOT You could put a welder in it!
02-02-2010 02:10 PM
wasurfer86 you would have to have a foot of lift to gain your ground clearance back
02-02-2010 01:50 PM
yj-genral all it needs is a gun mount on the roll bar!

that looks like some sort of ammo storage or something... cool but useless

oguruma Thanks for the input! That's what I am looking for, however I remember the one I originally saw was diamond plate type steel.... Anyway, I might be buying a 2000 TJ (Sahara). It has 100k miles on it, but he wants 8500 for it. If I can get the price down I will probably end up buying it. This will be my third car (2003 Subaru WRX and 1996 BMW 320i), and I wanted something that deals with the snow better than my BMW, but I also wanted more storage space since I have a 6 month old, and another kid on the way. I could probably make a Wrangler work for me, but I might end up with an explorer or something of the sort instead.

Also, where in Oregon are you at? I am stationed in Germany now, but I call North Bend/Coos Bay, Or. "home".

IslandTJ You definitely will be losing clearance but if you don't plan on leaving pavement - it is an alternate solution for our limited space TJs.

Wranger Storage step rail?

Alright I have looked everywhere, but I can't remember where I originally saw it.

What I am looking for is a storage compartment (resembling a scaled-down version of a truck toolbox) that is in place of the step rail. Anybody have any idea where I can find these or what they are even called?
