camaro851 I will be getting new rims also, i saw a jeep with 32' 11.50 tires, and that is the type of look i want. I just did not know if i could get those tires on without a lift. Thanks for the info!

mdnky Are you going to change the rims or keep the stock ones? On JKs with stock rims, width is more of a limiting factor than height up to about the 33" mark. The stock tires are either 29.3" tall (225/75-16 on 16x7 rims) or 32.1" (255/75-17 on 17x7.5 rims.) Notice both are relatively skinny.

265/75-16 (265/70-17) is a popular size, but may or may not have rubbing. They're 31.6" tall. That's about as wide as you want to go with stock rims and backspacing. Not to mention most tire manufacturers want wider rims on wider tires as well.

Two alternate sizes to consider would be 235/85-16 (235/80-17) and 255/85-16 (255/80-17). Both work width wise with stock rims. The 235s are 31.8" tall, while the 255s are 33.1" tall.

Tire sizes

I have a 08' and i was told i could run 32" on it without a lift. Is that possible to do with no rubbing? I keep seeing people talking about backspacing, and i could use some info. Thanks in advance!
