I do work at Bestop.
I'm not certain why we've never put windshield wipers on the hard tops. I will pass it along - but I think there's a big reason I just don't know.
We do put rear defrost in ours.
Speaking of working at Bestop, check out my blog at Bestop Blog. Here's one of the latest photos I've posted there:

|duaneduanet||Do you work at bestop? If so can you pass the word that there is a market for rear defrost and wiper for their hardtops. When it snows here the rear window fogs up and they hold the dirt to the rear window.|

Most factory hard tops had a rear windshield wiper, most aftermarket tops do not, at least thiis is true for TJ and JK, absolutely, but I'm not positive about YJ. There have been a LOT of people making hardtops over the years.
Wiring plugs on a YJ? Send a note to JpDocDave or WhiteYJ or NavyChief (or some others I'm forgetting right now) with electrical questions. I'm not sure what wiring you have. On my CJ, there is zero wiring for the hardtop, not even for a dome light. I don't know when that started changing.

YJ Hard Top Question???
I have a 1995 YJ with a Bestop Replace-A-Top. I am looking to get a hardtop for the winter time. I have noticed that some don't have defrost and rear wiper. Was there just a few years that had both? And I haven't seen a new hard top with both. Also did all jeeps come prewired for a hard top? and is there a location on my dash harness to plug in the switches? And is there anything else I would need to add one to my jeep?
