Not yet, but I'm going to this summer. I've heard many people claim their greatness. I know they are pricey, but if they are even half as good as people say...

don't remind me.

Mike001 I haver the RE monotubes on mine and my TJ rides better than stock its real smooth.

Jerry Bransford If you don't get the Bilsteins (5100 model) that are specifically valved for the Wrangler, they're stiff as hell so make sure your Bilstein dealer confirms with you that he's ordering the right Wrangler-specific version of the 5100 for you.
03-02-2007 12:56 AM
Steve97TJ How about bilsteins? I know there a well known company but how do they ride?
03-02-2007 12:47 AM
AzTJ I've got Edelbrock Performer shocks on mine, they were put on just before I bout the thing, and they seem to ride a bit rough on dirt roads, but are extremly smooth on pavement.

mr4x4 you want some good shocks
well Its gonna cost you some money I'm about to put these on myself but I rod in a friend's jeep after he installed them and on a slightly rutted or wash board dirt road we did 70 mph and hardly noticed

fox racing shoxs
here's a link to what I just ordered

1BLKJP Rancho 9000X's in my opinion. Adjustable to any soft/stifness you'd like. I think that Rancho is even running a buy 3 get 1 free thing right now. They are about 90 a piece last time I bought mine.
03-02-2007 12:28 AM
rickr i like my edelbrocks!
03-02-2007 12:07 AM
RedRubiTJ IIRC RE monotubes are made by Edelbrock and most people who run them like them. I prefer the valving on the Edelbrock branded, but shocks are very much an issue of personal preference. For example - I very much dislike OME, I understand why everyone else likes them but they are not for me..

Wr@ngler00 i really want a soft shock
03-01-2007 11:36 PM
dwdrums801 Im puttin on my RE lift next week with new RE monotube shocks so ill let you know how those are...anyone already running these shocks?
03-01-2007 11:32 PM
Scout The only problem I found with the DT's is the VERY harsh ride. IMO if you're looking for a firm shock then the DT's would be the way to go.
03-01-2007 11:21 PM
Rawkon Doetsch tecs prerunner 8000s cant beat the price for the long lasting performance you get. 30something bucks a shock
03-01-2007 11:20 PM
Wr@ngler00 im assuming gas is better than hydro's
03-01-2007 11:14 PM
Scout Yeah they are. I've done the cheap shocks thing and there's no going back. OME's are worth the money.
03-01-2007 11:12 PM
Wr@ngler00 Sweet thanks man. Damn those babies are expensive aren't they?
The ome's i mean!
03-01-2007 11:11 PM
lost I have the BDS 5500 Series Shocks and they ride very nice, and i dont think they cost too much either
03-01-2007 11:06 PM
Scout They make them in yellow and black.

Wr@ngler00 Ya i have heard a bunch of good stuff about the ome but i cant get past the color. I know this is silly but i want my tj to look just as good as it can perform. Any suggestions about that?
03-01-2007 10:50 PM
Scout OME is my pick. I've had DT's, Skycrapper Nitros and the OME's. The OME's are the best of the three. Although that's about the same as comparing chicken nuggets to filet mignon.

Best shocks to run????

What would be the best shocks to run with a 2 inch bb and 31's.
What do yall run with your suspensions and what works well with moderate off-roading? I want something soft for onroad...
