meyers I do it all the time in the summer, usually 2 boards sometimes my kayak never had an issue. Just strap it down tight. I use a couple of pieces of the 1 1/2 inch pipe foam you can get at any Home Depot/Lowe's type place to protect it from the straps rubbing and digging into the gel coat on the board.

MCG What kind of surfboard.
I have a 6'3" short and a 6'8" fish.
what I do Is I just open the rear window and stick the nose just right behind the passanger seat and the tail will be on diagonal, the board will stick out a litle bit but its okay, off course with a bag or at least a suck, and bealive me I drive from Tampa West Coast to Jupiter FL ,East Coast, is like 3 or 4 hour drive and just about 70 80 MPH, depends on the wind, and no problems at all.
But also u can tie the board on top of the roll bar.
good luck.

Surf Board on Jeep

Hello, i want to go to the beach this weekend. I was wondering if any has straped their board to the stock roll cage (04 wrangler) or if you can even do that. The beach is about 50 miles away and i will be going about 70 mph. Is it safe? If you have done it please let me know how you tied it down and what not. Thanks, and im new to this site.
