Welcome! You are gonna fit in here fine! Congrats on the Jeep, you already love it, and it's just gonna get worse!
Nice looking TJ, don't forget to wave! Maybe you can teach some of those Floridians and L.A.ers how to do it, seems lots of em have no clue if you believe what you read....

TJ Hardtop, rural FL half the time, Los Angeles the other half.
That about sums it up. Landed a nice job recently which I had been chasing, oh, about 13 years, so I finally bought myself a Jeep. Been sucking it up for a long dadgum time driving something super economical ( Honda Civic.) and (gag) responsible, and things just sort of worked out where it was time.
Grew up on a farm but I ain't a farmer so I don't need a truck. I do a little fishing, hunt a little, but mostly I'm a dude and I just can't stand driving something that makes me feel like a dadgum pair of khaki slacks on wheels. I gotta work in and around LA but I don't have to drive a *$^% Prius. Nothing wrong with Priusseseses but if you want to get the equiv of a testicotomy, just rent one sometime. Good gracious.
So I don't need a jeep. I have no tactical reason. I don't live up a 35% dirt grade. I don't have 10 miles a day of fence to fix.
I'm a $^%* man and I want one. Ha ha! That's it! That's the only reason . And as Darwinian as it seems, I just feel better driving something that I look and feel like I was born in.
It's funny- back home dirt is everywhere. Getting stuck is a daily part of life in cattle gaps, pasture lanes and peanut fields. In SoCal I actually have to travel to find a dirt road. Gotta plan a weekend getaway to spin a tire.
Don't matter. Still feel like a girl, in a car.
So we got us a jeep.
Found one I liked in Denver, drove it back to LA. Here are a few pics from the trip. Needs a few things; tires being number one. I'd take any suggestions, planning so far to go with 31s. (10.5)
Oh. And I might as well get this out of the way now. I wanted an automatic. You know what- I'm 46 freakin years old, I've shifted gears exactly 8,792,432 times in everything from Italian sports cars to old farm trucks and I'm pretty tired of it. I may regret it the first time my battery dies, but I'll get over it. The 405 at 4:45 is a bitch with granny low.
And it's as slow as molasses. It's a 4-banger. Every hill has me hunting the far right lane. (I stay the ^$%& out of the far left anyway, unless I'm passing........................................... ..................................)
But I don't care one wit. I freakin love my dadgum Jeep. Swear to God it feels like I always had it. We'll take her out to the trails when the weather is bad. Give it a work out.
'Er ya go.
