RawhideClab Ok it looks like I am going to have to build my own adapter to go from the zf tranny to the TC. Does anyone know the total length of the I6 and tranny? I need to figure out how much space I have to make my adapter
Also does anyone have the tech specs for that TC? I want to look at the bolt pattern on the front to start trying to figure out how to even make the adapter. I could go out and unbolt it and drop it and get measurements but I thought maybe someone on here might have that info. Not to mention it would be easier.

RawhideClab The trick now will be to figure out how make a adapter to go from the tranny to the transfer case

W5KVV Hell. Yes. If it's the ZF tranny, it's a monster. A better transmission than the NV4500/NV5600.

It might be the M5R2, also a good 5 speed. Either would be awesome in a Jeep.

RawhideClab As far as a tranny the ford has a 5 so manual in it already and that is a pretty stout tranny

OregonPlinker It would work. You would have some time and money into it but you could pull it off. Is the truck 4x4? Depending on the length of your 351, tranny and transfer case you might need a little stretch in the rear. I think you would have enough room to have decent driveline angles with out stretch depending on tranny choice?

The 351 is shorter than the 4.0 but its wider so you need to mount it forward or do a body lift or both. Electric cooling fans will buy you some room up front for placement too.

I would stick a C6 behind that 351. I had that set up in a FSB and it was a mean rig.Would of loved to transplant it into a jeep..

One thing I hear over and over again is, when you swap engines, you dont do anything because of existing components or cause its easy. Like where your tranny is or you want to re use your drivelines. None of that. You put the engine in where it is optimal and remount everything else and have drivelines made...

Pipe dream

So I have a old '95 ford F-250 with the 351 in it. It only has 130k ish miles on it. How hard would it be to swing that into my '89? I doubt I'll do it any time soon just daydreaming.
