|ssgggtom||I did have a battery charger on it. But then again it may not have the cranking amps. I will go and check all the cables again. Thanks for the info.|

Double check the battery connections at the starter side. Be sure your battery is at 100% as well. You can test by jumping from another vehicle and wigling the wires to see if there is any play. Mine did this when the + cable vibrated loose on the starter side.
Unless it is related to something you did when you changed the clutch, make sure safety switches, etc... are all hooked back up correctly.

Will not start
I bought an 89 Wrangler that was sitting a few months. I just put a clutch in it and it won't start now. You can hear the bendix kick out but that's it, it does not start. I had the starter bench tested and also replaced it with a new one and it does the same thing. The engine is not locked up because I can turn it. The battery has juice, the lights don't dim when you try and start it. I guess I will start following the electrical system. If anyone has an idea what it could be or what I could check.
