sevenservices yeah, the 10.5 15's will fit stock rims. You should'nt need to go wider on the rims until you really get up there in size. The advantage of new rims is to stagger them wider, the center is offset the bigger you go to give a wider stance without having spacers.

andreafahy01 While not a clear answer per say and I don't know if this will help you but... I have American Racing Outlaw I's which I believe are 15 x 8's (I emailed wheelsforless.com to ask them, as they sell them) with a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern, running Wrangler 31 x 10.5 x 15LT tires

mrcarcrazy Good advice, esp if they've been outside/not under pressure.

Many times you can find some good deals, just gotta watch yourself. Personally I won't buy another Goodyear...but that's b/c the 31'' Wranglers that came on my TJ failed on me. (sidewall split open as I was walking away from my Jeep one day at work.) Which was the first time I found that my Jeep's OEM jack and tools had been removed by a P.O.

After that day I vowed to not buy Goodyear.

adkjoe Not sure about your rims but once piece of advice. Look at the DOT number before you buy them. If they are older than 5 years don't buy them. Before I knew tire age mattered I got burned bad on an 8 year old set of mud tires that "looked" good until one blew out a week later and put my dakota and me in a ditch. The other 3 started cracking really bad and would have blown as well if I kept using them. Tires can look good and have lots of tread on them but age is really mostly what matters, especially if they have been sitting around.

mrcarcrazy Should be fine. offset looks about like stock.

so yeah, should be good to go.

These Tires Gonna Work?

I'm picking up a set of 4 Goodyear Wrangler GS-T 31x10.5r15 tires today for $120 and want to know if I'm getting a good deal. I don't have $500 to spend on tires I want so a used set will get me through the summer then I'm good for a new tire purchase.

The problem? I don't know what width my rims are. They're aftermarket American Racing rims. Currently has 255/70r15 tires on 'em. I want to know with the 31x10.5 tires am I likely to have any rubbing issues?

There's a pic of the tires right now. The tread is barely pushing 3/11" right now.

I've talked to the guy who owns the tires and here's what he's said.

"i measured the tread depth with a tire gauge, they are 10 and 11/32's the very worse spot ) lowest on the lowest tire is 8. 3 of the tires are solid good tread and the one is good but with some wear on edge ( the 8/32 tire) must have been a front. I didnt see any dryness or bad scuffs. Any time today could be ok, just let me know. sat or sunday mornings are ok too, but I get a lot of other business on the w/e's, thanks, Steve"

4 GoodYear Wrangler GSA 31x10.50R-15LT Radial 4x4 PU Truck Tires

So what do you guys think? Should I go for them? Will they work okay?
