No I don't ask my dentist to fix haircuts, unless he is giving me one.
Enough said I will not add to this thread, ignorance is bliss.

I have started putting out feelers for a replacement top for my '94 prior to next fall.
This thread is interesting (...and yes, I have purchased a few odds and ends from Quadratrak over the years).

Let me get this..I have to call customer support about a problem clearly stated on this forum? And of course go through the entire description I posted and wait to hear back?
This great logic...how about them calling me or you sending them the information I shared on this forum and the diagrams I sent you off-line?
Geoff you are a busy person and I know marketing takes a lot of time. No problem I will have the liner repaired by my boat upholster guy; he knows what he is doing.
Yep I know this is a biting response but it has been earned.

I enjoy participating in this forum, I hope I provide some value for our customers and for our company. But I do not work in customer support. I work in marketing. I do not have any way to send you replacement parts, do warranty exchanges, etc. I've always tried to be clear about that.
So while I understand that YOU PAY MY SALARY, I think you need to understand that posting something in a forum is not the same as contacting customer support.
Call customer support. They are there to help you, they were there to help people long before I started posting on this forum. Long before there was an Internet.

It's now June......almost 5 months and I have yet to have Bestop respond with a fix regarding this liner. I am not a happy camper and think Quadratec and Bestop should get their respective ducks in line and spend some time fixing a problem like the liner coming apart while driving down the road! CUSTOMERS PAY YOUR SALARIES!
So much for being understanding and kind words!

|steam||At least Best Top takes action. The response was fast and the issue maybe just putting velcro in another location. By the way the liner is very good when it is up. There must be some sort of fix.|

I have to admit that your comments right above are specific, detailed, and most likely correct.
This is actually worse for me, in a weird way, because now I need to really take action. When someone is just blowing off steam, there's not much I can or need to do.

|steam||The problem is the connection between the front liner and the rear liner. The velcro just doesnot hold it in place. The instructions suggest punching holes in the line to screw it to the center suppot rail, behind the speaker bar...good luck with that as it will just tear the fabric. The material seems to be adequate but I think the placement of the front velcro strip to hold the front panel on the window screen bar is shown too far forward; it needs to be several inches to the rear. Too late for me as I installed the velcro as shown!|

|InfernoGirl||Thanks for the clarification Geoff, I was looking for these the other day and couldn't find them anywhere. I'll have to look a little harder I guess...|

The liner is made of the same materials as the top - so waterproof vinyl fabric. It's a very thick version of this fabric, with a foam layer. The fabric is actually very similar to seat fabric - so it's the tough, thick, durable stuff. It will stand up to the elements.
Think of it as a relatively inexpensive way to make your top fabric even thicker than sailcloth.

|drivebytruckerz||Geoff... I have another question for you while you research this thing.. I was actually literally JUST looking at the Quadratec catalog and was wondering if that liner gets wet (downpour in the parking lot while you're inside work, store, school etc.) while your top is down, does it mess it up, or get mildewed? Thanks..|

I have to admit I've only seen it installed, and haven't played with it or installed it at all. So I can't help either. Hopefully you'll get something from our support team. And we will use your feedback on the product and install. It's a new thing for us.
I'm guessing that's why Quad sent you over to our support team - they probably haven't had a chance to install it yet either and couldn't answer your questions.
But I admit I'm surprised by your message. I just assumed it would be a straightforward thing. I'll have to put one in and see what's up. This is the first feedback - positive or negative - I've seen on this product.
Almost entirely irrelevant side note: I once complained about installation instructions (at another company). So they made me write the next set. I was all cocky about it, because I'm a decently good writer. But man, it's really hard.

Hmmmm. I'm curious now. I always assumed it would be a very simple thing. Can you post up some pics. Maybe someone (Geoff) can help you out. Maybe you are just over "engineering" it? I know it's not like a man to do a thing like that, but you technical minded types are different
I'm just messin' with ya. Really, we'll try and help

Best Top Soft Top Liner
Just got my liner from Best Top; what a mess; the instructions are confusing and made for any jeep. The front panel does not properly connect to the rear panel. If you open the soft top God help you...it's areal mess. I always thought Best Top was a good company, as I did Quadratec who just blew me off to Best Top. This liner is too complex & thats coming from an engineer.
