Can't really help you on problem 2, but problem 1 is in your steering gear box. Bearings/seal worn and leaking. Mine does the same, but I have no desire to replace it so I just drive it.

1) is leaking fluid from where the steering column goes into the steering box
2) makes a rattle / clank when i go from stop into 1st and the shifter jumps when i engage clutch
