bryanintowson Stock TJ Foglight Replacement - JeepForum.com

Brief write up of how I replaced my foglights.

bryanintowson There's not much choice if you don't want to do any wiring mods. I purchased a set of replacement MOPAR units from ebay that were NOS and supposedly a straight up swap.

Well... the ones I got had bayonet style connectors and the OEM's on my 2002 had plug style connectors AND a smaller diameter mounting stud. I ended up reusing the original wiring harness from the originals. Had to disassemble them both to swap out the wiring but it wasn't difficult just a little tedious. I also had to hit the hardware store and get some small mounting bolts. I wrote up a brief how-to and I will post that in a hot second.

I paid about a hundred bucks for the pair.

TurkA77 I am also missing one of the fog lights on a 2006 I just purchased. I got the Hella 500s Black Magic. Still waiting for them to be delivered. I am hoping the existing wires plug in. I'll give you an update later.

03 RUBI KC makes fog lites that plug right into the stock connectors - KC Hilights #97047.1201 from Quadratec.

Bobthegod Chuck the stock lights. If you live in a foggy area get some fogs. But I agree with the others.....get some Hella 500 FF's (they come either driving or fog) I got 4 of the driving lights. Two go down the road, the other two go out 10 degrees to each side.....I get a nice full sweep of light(s) straight ahead and to each side, plenty of light coverage. I'm thinking of adding some 100 or 130 watts lights on the cowl but it's not necessary at this point.

If you want to go over 55w it's simple to wire in a relay. I have 100watt Hella's and 130w H4 headlights running through relays.

AfterMath If you are going to use your factory wiring, don't go above 55w.

wags7121 Ive been looking at the KC Apollo series of lights (specificaly the 6" Long Range), they are a reasonable price but i cant seem to find any customer reviews. anybody have any advice about them?

AfterMath I just bought a pair of Hella's from Autozone. 55w Fog Light. They don't come with a Jeep factory plug, but I just spliced them into my existing fog light wiring. I'm happy with them so far, and they fit into my stock bumper.

Total install time: 20 minutes
