The leg room is better IMHO, because the seat bottom is a little higher. I have no problem seeing over the seat backs, when no one is sitting in the seats the backs are folded down. And it gives me a perfect view of my spare tire

cyclone88 Definitely one of the most practical mods I've seen. I'd love to do something similar to my 2dr JK...has anyone seen it done?

Again nice job!
Thanks ! I looked at many different small bucket seats and these were the first ones I found that would fit with 2 side by side. I'm sure there are others and would like to here from others that have done this with different seats. I did not find any seats that had arm rests...

Good luck and lets see some pic's of what others have done !

daddyjeep Very nice. I Imagine that a center seat out of a minivan would work too. The one in my old Venture had cup holders molded into the back even. Plus, they look more finished without the exposed foam padding.

Gridly Bumspade Thanks for coming up with this mod. I am new to the Jeep community and was looking to do the same thing so I could make room for a dog crate. Now that you have done all of the thinking, all I need to do is get to work.

Thanks. Also, can you tell me what gauge (thickness) your 4" angle iron is and, how "long" did you cut it to? Another question if possible; where did you look to find the angle iron?

Thanks again! Your mod was brilliant...I'm looking forward to giving it a try myself.
