BARKDOG67 That is not a hole that requires plugging that silver wrap around your exhaust manifold is a heat sheild of some sort. If you have exhaust pouring out from there then your manifold is cracked badly or your gasket is leaking which is common to happen. I just replaced the manifold and gasket on mine because it had a 3 inch crack right down the middle.

97 2.5 - Extra hole in Exhaust Manifold

Ok, I have been back and forth with my local Jeep Mechanic and the Dealer. They both think I'm crazy trying to explain this over the phone.

My TJ started running really bad the other day. Sounded like an exhaust leak so I looked under the hood. On my exhaust manifold there is a small pipe coming out with nothing connected to it or is it plugged. Exhaust is just pouring out of it.

I have looked at parts sites and googled all day. It is my understanding there should be a plug for the hole. If so, anyone know where I can get one or a workaround.

I've attached a pic so you'll know what I'm talking about.

Thanks.
