Jerry Bransford X2 on what Doclouie said.

It's even ok to mix different types of engine oils like synthetic and dino oils, even when they are not the same viscosities. For the ATF used in the t-case, you could even throw in ATF+3 if you needed to without problem. Just don't use other types of ATF besides ATF+3 or ATF+4. Other ATFs like Mercon are totally not ok to use.

doclouie That is completely fine. As long as it is the proper fluid you can mix brands. This is also true with oil in the engine along with the oil in your front and rear bell housings. ( I mean weights here)

transfer case fluid

I have an NV2401OR and had a service station change the fluid out in it. They used ATF+4. I checked it today and it was at proper lvl. I bled about a week ago to the proper lvls due to the service guys over-filling it. I decided to add a little more just to be safe while i had the fill plug out. I added some napa ATF+4.

My question : is it ok to mix different brands of ATF+4? I know the service station didnt use napa brand but thats all i had.

thanks
