txhotrod Mystery Solved! Its a Dana 30, turns out the Jeep was 1981, not 1983. Evidently Jeep changed alot between those years. I want to thank everyone who answered this thread. Your help was invaluable.

4Jeepn Any numbers stamped on the axle housing it self? Also any pic's of the hubs/ brake area you can post that might help too.

txhotrod OK we have pretty much determined its a Dana 30, but the question I have is what is it out of? I need to change the brakes and lines but the Scrambler stuff dont fit. Could it be off a Scout or an early Bronco?

Can You Identify This Axle?

I need help identifying this axle. Its from the front of 1983 Scrambler, I'm pretty sure someone swapped in another axle though, cause all of the parts I have tried to purchase, do not fit! Here are some pics, if anyone can tell me what it is, that would be great. I am including the pictures of the calipers and brake line, if that helps. The original Scrambler end is about 1/2" thick and square, not round like this one.
We think it might be out of a Scout, since it has the correct bolt pattern.
