TeeCan The guy at the oil change place said something about it being my lifters. Is this easy or hard to address?

TeeCan It was gradual over time. it has about 70k miles. I will try the gas - I do go on the cheap usually.
Thanks!

The Ugly Jeep Was it all of a sudden, or did it get louder over time ? How many miles ?
May be something as simple as a bad tank of gas. Try some STP Gas treatment or some 104+ Octane boost see if it helps. Knock sensor may be going bad too.

Engine knocking sound when I press gas

Folks,
I am hoping that you all can lend some advice. I have an 04 TJ 2.4 Liter 4 Cyl. that I never really do any "real" Jeep stuff in. It is my around town car. When I hit the gas pedal, the engine starts to knock. It sounds as it something in loose or something. The more the gas, the more the knocking.

What should I be checking for?

Thanks!
