TJNewbie I took the 5.5" speakers (pioneer 4ways) out of the sound bar, turned them sideways, with speaker facing out, installed them in the front 4x6 holes (no cutting metal supports) and used zip-ties in the bolt holes to hold them in place then reinstalled the speaker covers. then I installed Sony 6.5" explods 3way speakers in the soundbar. everything fits nicely & secure. now it rocks! top down or just windows out, 75-80mph & music's loud and clear.

5.25" Front Speaker Conversion

I made a post in the electronics section as well but am still looking for my answer.

I am converting the 4x6's in front to 5.25". I have ordered the correct adapter for the screw holes but the speakers do not seem to fit? There is a piece of metal that is getting in the way. Do I need to cut this metal piece?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
