That was my problem too. Took it all loose again and reset it and started it back up and what do you know, it worked. Thanks a bunch guys.

There are 2 "pins" that are cast into the head that the intake must sit flush on. Loosen everything up and give the intake a wiggle and I bet you it will fall and settle on them. I did this exact thing on my mother's XJ not a month ago.

|DevilDogDoc||You didn't set the intake right on the dowels and you now have a massive air leak. Pull it off, make sure it's mounted on both the dowels,one in front one in back, and torque as instructed in the book.|

|ropin321620||well i did check that and the throttle body is closed and the cables seem to be all hooked up properly. in fact never unhooked any cables|

problems after exhaust manifold replacement
I just finished replacing the exhaust manifold on a 99 wrangler. Everything went great til i went to start it up. It revs up to very high rpms. Have to shut it off before it redlines. Everything is hooked up right, numbered all my fuel injectors to make sure they went back to the right spot. Anyone have this problem after replacing the manifold. Tks for any advice.
