jeepjones Keep looking there are a ton of GOOD deals to be had on GOOD TJ's, Look for one that is not modded.

DOCBOZ as for the axles, they are factory. not sure on the nomenclature of the factory axles. but i am gonna pass on this jeep. thank you all for your help.. it sure looks good, but i dont want to get something that is gonna give me some troubles down the road, that i can avoid now.. thanks a million guys...

Ken Steele You didn't list a price, but it sounds like you should leave this one alone. No one that knows what they are doing would ever put a 3" body lift on a Jeep, much less in combination with a 5.5" suspension lift. 37" tires should never be run on factory axles. Best case scenario, that Jeep would have a D44/D30 combo, but more likely it is a D35/D30 axle combination. Either way, the axles can't handle those tires. I lived in NOLA about 15 years ago. Not much in the way of rock crawling there. Just mudding for the most part right? You will snap a lot of axles with that set up when you get some wheel spin.

bobjenkins oo which axles. worst thing is you know the dude romped on it offroad. I think depending on what axles youve got thats where the tires are going to cause most issues

i am looking to buy my first jeep. i found one that i like, and had some questions about the gearing and stuff. i am new to offroading, well atleast trying to do it right. the Jeep i am looking at has already been modified. i just wanted to get some opinions on if it was done right. i would greatly appreciate any feedback. below you will find the add that the jeep is listed on.

IT ALSO HAS A 5.5 INCH SUSPENSION LIFT, 3 INCH BODY LIFT, 37/14.5/15 TOYO OPEN COUNTRY M/T TIRES, 15X10 EAGLE ALLOY RIMS, 4.88 GEARS, AUSSIE LOCKER IN FRONT AXLE, JKS QUICK DISCONNECT SWAY BAR LINKS, BIG DADDY ROCK SLIDERS, STEERING BOX PROTECTOR, TUBULAR FRONT & REAR BUMPERS, RECIEVER HITCH, PIONEER CD PLAYER WITH SOUND BAR, INSIDE TUB IS RHINO LINED HUSKY LINER FLOOR PANS

not too sure about if the gear ratio is right for the tires. it is sitting on factory axels. wanted to be sure they can handle the new gears?? thanks again for your help...
