bc40ton I luv the Pines, familiar with the area you were in and camp there also. Good luck with your new tires.

Bass River Forest Fire

My GF and I decided to take a ride out to Bass River to check out the damage from the recent Forest Fire. Wasn't much to see, but we spent a nice day out in the forest. We turned off the pavement by Atco raceway, and made our way down to Atsion Lake, then took Quaker bridge road out to Batsto Village. Here's a pic of the bridge crossing the stream:

Then we rode out to Bass River and turned off just before the parkway crossing. We soon found the newly burned area. (Followed the smell of smoke.)

We weren't looking for anything extreme (no tow vehicle), but it was nice to just be out in the woods and enjoy the weather. Also gave me a chance to test out my new (to me!) tires and wheels. Found some deep sugar sand and a few small mud holes to try them out on. I'm happy with them so far. Here's a pic of the jeep (before the mud holes):

Then of course we had to stop for Ice cream, to keep the GF happy.
