Jerry Bransford You can cold-chisel the old nutsert out though it's easier with an air tool. Then spot weld an insert you can get from Grainger into the hole.

rubicon hobby I have tack welded a 4" long machine screw to the side of the nut so that I can manuver it into position in the frame to reinstall the bolt on the bottom of the skid plate I hope this works

That will work if you can get into the frame to hold the nut.

wrangler noob i had to drop it on my 2002 to install an exhaust. i also had to cut the one bolt. i just went to the hardware store and bought the same size bolt and the nut with the grooves in it that self lock. it worked perfectly. also get a bigger washer. hope this helps

03 RUBI I think they're call nut-serts and they take a special tool to install. You might try searching the internet.

Skid plate bolts and locking nuts

Does anyone know where you can get the bolts for the skid plate and the nut that locks into the frame that the bolt goes in. I had to drop th skid plate today and had one of the pressed in nuts come loose wound up cutting the bolt to get it off I cant find them in the parts catolog this is for my 2003 Rubicon Transmission skid plate
