snwchris Hmmm I would say yea, if you have the money to do both, then it's a piece of mind they are both done. Don't forget brake fluid as well to bleed the brakes

mrcarcrazy DIY, but buy the rebuilt/new part...rebuilding them yourself takes more time than its worth in saving.

If the rotors are all torn up, just replace them.

snwchris I would say just get a new Caliper from the autostore should only be about $20-$30 and none of the hassle with trying to rebuild the existing one. Also if there's enough materail on the rotor make sure to have the Rotor Turned at local store as well to remove the gouge and have a nice resurfaced area for the brake pads

za_mhz Just do it yourself. I just changed mine. got a midrange caliper from napa for about 70 then 30 back from core charge. I came all nice and painted up in black. so much faster then a rebuild.

brake calipers- rebuild or get new

hey all. started hearing noise and feeling vibrations coming from the front right wheel of my wrangler. I checked it yesterday only to find out that not only were the brake pads destroyed, but also they had put gashes through my rotor. And, I also found out that the problem was that the seal on the caliper that contains the brake fluid had been destroyed from god knows what. So my question is this; should I get a caliper rebuild kit or just get a new caliper? And would it be worth it to do it myself, or have a shop do it?
