Wrangler1308 I actually do have the door surroundings this is where my top has a tight squeeze to be put into those things and I need to pry it out with a flat head for when I want to take of the roof. I had took it to a local shop and they said I might need a new roof cuz it was way too tight on the surroundings. I got the new skin coming in on Monday only 500 bucks from the dealer I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for the input everyone

InfernoGirl Door surrounds attach to the roll bars around the doors to fill the gap between the doors and the top, and anchor the top. Look at #15 and 31 in this pic. You need those, if you don't have them....Mopar Soft Top Hardware for Jeep Wrangler Jk Unlimited 4 Door from Morris 4x4

Wrangler1308 I'm new to the whole jeep thing what are door surrounds ? And I think my problem is that the soft top is on the car really tight on the car like the front and back don't fit on without some stretching involved before lol and on the sides I need to pry it to get the top off. So I'm doing the skin first to see where it goes after that

You are using door surrounds? Right?

ssbeachveg That leak was one of the many reasons I sold my '07 to get an '06 (the death wobble and parts falling out were some other reasons). Both the drivers seat and the front passenger seat would literally get soaked every time it rained. I went to 3 dealers near me in VB and all three told me I was SOL as far as the warranty goes. When I sold it, I told the guy about it and a dealer in MD got him a new top with no questions and he said it fixxed it. Good luck!!

Wrangler1308 Thanks guys I actually ordered the skin from the dealer using my friends dealer discount for the reason that it leaks thru the doors as well. There is a big gap between the top and the doors I need to fill that up as well. But the new one I'm going to seal it up using a sealer to really make sure there is no leak in the new one.

NHrubicon Tube of seam sealer (autoparts store or any tent supplier, same stuff) is less than $10....I'd try it first before spending a couple hundred on new skin or new top! Applied from the inside it won't show outside.....

InfernoGirl Try some tent seam sealer on the seams. Or you can get a new skin for it. Look for a bestop replace a top, it'll use your factory hardware.

Leaky roof ...

Well I have a JKU 07 with a soft top and is really tight on the car and the seems where is stitched is leaking, and as well by the doors. I want to replace it I'm thinking freedom hard top but I'm on a budget. So you think just replacing the soft top with another soft top keeping my hardware will be just fine. I would like to hear from someone that has experienced with a leaky roof and know what you did..??

Any help and opinions will help
