I think I might be having the same issue. What center pins are you talking about? Still kind of a novice with 4WD components. Thanks.

|kilz42||Ok update: I discovered that my center pins were snapped in half.. 2 hours later center pins were fixed and everything is running much much better. I still hear a slight click every now and then coming from beneath me somewhere... It doesn't affect the driving or power at all.. It's just a clicking noise right after I shift and let out the clutch. No idea what it is. Any thoughts?|

Trans fluid level good?
Master clutch cylinder full?
If you have any air in your hydrolic clutch line it could cause the grind going in gear. Try bleeding your clutch

|kilz42||I checked my motor mounts - they are solid. The guy who owned the Jeep before me replaced the motor and it looks like he did it right with new motor mounts. So that rules that theory out.|

|Garyk||If it pulls to the left or right on acceleration is probably a busted spring, broken motor mount or spring is shifting on the axle mount. Motor mounts could also affect your shifting if the linkage hangs up on frame/floor. Check the motor mounts, you should not be able to lift the motor up with a pry bar. If both mounts are broken(good chance) the motor can move couple of inches either way.|

|kilz42||I don't want to hear that!!! Haha I had a sinking feeling that it might be the synchos but just didn't really want to think about it...|

|Ibuildembig||Sounds like synchronizers to me|

YJ Possible Transmission/Clutch Issue?
I'm having some issues with my yj 5 speed. First gear will sometimes be smooth as butter and then the next time I can't get it in gear unless I line the gears up by putting it in reverse. I have some slight problems in 2nd and 3rd when I shift into them I get a slight grinding and then I pops into gear and drives fine. About every 2 weeks I get an additional problem - when I let the clutch out fully and am starting to accelerate I get an odd popping spring/metal noise (kinda loud) and the whole jeep sheers to the left accompanied by a slight power loss. Any thoughts as to what this could be? I'm not a transmission guy and I don't know much about this but I'm wanting to learn it.
